Abstract
everal coumarin-3-carboxylates and 3?carboxamides were synthesized and evaluated for their AChE inhibitory activity. The coumarin analogs were designed through a hybridization approach in which the backbone moiety of acetylcholine and the coumarin ring scaffold were connected together with an ester or amide linker. Most coumarin analogs exhibited weak to moderate AChE inhibitory activity. Among 6 tested compounds, 4f exhibited the best result (IC50= 17.32 ¥ìM).
